Squirrel Control

Need Squirrel Removal Tips?
Great! I can offer few pointers. I'm a professional wildlife control expert and have been removing squirrels from residential properties for a long time.

Damages caused by squirrels
Squirrels if not removed can cause a lot of damage. Squirrels can chew through wood, plastic and aluminum. The attic environment is an ideal nesting location. It's high, dry and warm. Heat coming out of your attic attracts squirrels. They start investigating your roof and, in little time, start chewing at a roof vent or a soffit to make their way inside the attic. They can chew and damage roof vents, roof pipes, soffit, or the roof line and access your attic. While inside they remove insulation, chew wiring, urinate and defecate. Squirrel Control is way harder when they are already settled in, especially if they have babies.
Spotting Squirrels
With their long bushy tail and exceptional balance at dizzying heights, squirrels are easy to spot. Their versatile, sturdy claws are perfect for climbing to their tree top homes and digging in the earth to bury food for winter survival.
What they Eat
Squirrels rely on nuts, seeds, conifer cones, fruits, fungi, and green vegetation. They also love bird seed and are notorious raiders of backyard birdfeeders.
Where they Live
Squirrels prefer their nests (or “dreys”) to be up high in trees. If the perfect spot isn’t available, they’ve been known to find a warm dry spot in attics and chimneys.
Life with Humans
Squirrels can cause major damage to siding, insulation, and electric wiring. Since they can breed a litter of 2-5 young up to twice a year, a squirrel community in your home can get out of hand pretty quickly. Plus, mother squirrels are extremely protective of young and have been known to attack people and pets if threatened.

How should I remove the squirrels?

Purchase a squirrel one-way door. Install it at the entry hole. You should not hear the noise after few days. If you do hear it few days after, inspect the home for possibly a second hole.

Squirrel Removal from Attic

There are many ways that a squirrel can access your attic. They can easily chew through the roof vent, roof pipe, roofline, and soffit. While inside, they will cause a lot of damage. If you hear running and scratching, you have squirrels. Most people would hear them early in the morning and at night (after sunset). There are other ways which you can learn if you have a squirrel problem.

1. Witnessing the intrusion - During the day, you might see the squirrel moving around on your roof. If you look long enough, they will show you the entry way.

2. Looking for signs of damage - Take a look around your property for signs of damage. Sometimes the hole is easily visible. If not, do more investigation. Do you see loose shingles? Do you see insulation on the ground?

3.Visually inspecting the attic - If you can't find any signs of damage from outside you may check the attic for clues. If you see small animal trail in the insulation or squirrel feces you have a squirrel problem.

Remember not to block any holes. sealing the hole without installing a removal device can cause more problems. Remember during baby season (Apr-Sept) check for babies. Using a removal device is not enough. Call a professional squirrel removal company to humanely deal with the problem.
